Birrificio del Ducato conquers European Beer Star 2011

The following is a press article sent by the agents representing Birrificio del Ducato:

With seven awards won in Nurnberg, the young producers from Roncole Verdi, Parma, Italy, become the Italian craft brewery most prized in the world.

Birrificio del Ducato was in the spotlight during the 2011 edition of European Beer Star, an event held in Nurnberg, Germany. Two gold medals, two silvers and three bronzes: the craft brewery located in Roncole Verdi (Parma) stepped proudly right to the front taking over a very competitive group of beer producers from 38 countries and all continents, with 1,139 beers in 49 different categories taking part.

The Brewery was awarded seven medals in total. This is a unique performance in the history of the European Beer Star, and has never been obtained before in any of the eight editions of this prestigious contest which attracts all the most important names in the brewing scene. “This is an historic result – says Giovanni Campari, brewmaster of Birrificio del Ducato – it really pays back our team efforts and our passion for the product. We truly are the most prize-winning craft Italian brewery in the world and we have achieved accolades with a large range of our products, a fact that proves consistent high quality in all our different labels. But the greatest satisfaction was to receive a standing ovation from a parterre of world famous brewmasters, from which we were, we are and we will always be inspired”. The award winning beers, some of which already prized in the past are the following:

  • Beersel Morning, Gold Medal in the category Belgian-Style Gueuze Lambic;
  • Sally Brown, Gold Medal in Sweet Stout;
  • Viaemilia, Silver Medal in German-Style Kellerpils;
  • Winterlude, Silver Medal in the category Belgian-Style Tripel;
  • Blonde, Bronze Medal in Belgian-Style Ale;
  • Oatmeal Stout, Bronze Medal in Dry Stout;
  • La Luna Rossa, Bronze Medal in Belgian-Style Fruit Lambic.
