Ballechin is the Heavily Peated Malt we make at Edradour Distillery. The Malt is peated to a level of at least 500ppm during the drying process. Distilled in 2004, the spirit has been fully matured in Madeira Puncheons. This bottling is from two of those Puncheons, cask numbers 184 and 189, and bottling took place on 5th July 2023, yielding just 1323 bottles,
No artificial colour has been added during bottling. The colour of the whisky reflects only the natural impact from the casks during maturation. Bottled at natural cask strength, this very fine single malt retains the full depth of colour and flavours developed during 19 years of maturation.
