750 ML
Tasting Notes: Driftwood campfire, leather, and creosote dominate the aromas. A sweet, Demerara sugar entry leads to tastes of candied orange peel and seaweed. The finish is minty, ashy, earthy, and briny, while still sweet and silky.
Production Details: This release started with our Washington Peated Single Malt Whiskey, which was made from locally grown barley malted with peat from a bog in Washington State. That whiskey had matured for 45 months in new American Oak and we finished it for an additional seven months in a cask that previously held Ardbeg whisky. The Copperworks Washington Peated Whiskey brought savory and earthy notes to the release and the Ardbeg cask layered on a more traditional Islay Scotch smokiness. The sweetness from the new American Oak cask balanced the heavy smoke from the Ardbeg cask.
