From the Distillery:
The Icons of Campbeltown series pays tribute to the Campbeltown community that ensured Glen Scotia prevailed through history. Taking our inspiration from the Market Cross – a historic community meeting point for celebration and storytelling, with a series of saints and beasts carved into its stone face – each release recalls a tale of local community spirit.
Each of the releases in our series takes inspiration from one of the many of saints and mythical beasts carved into the face of the cross. To bring these to life in a truly breathtaking way, we have partnered with esteemed artist, Joel Holzman (Lucasfilm, Marvel, Disney and more), to produce the design that adorns the packaging for the series. It’s a challenge that he has fully embraced.
“I’ve always had a fascination with ancient times, traditions and beliefs. Getting to know the story of this project was inspiring.”
Release No.3, the third chapter in the Icons of Campbeltown Series, is dedicated to the wolf — a creature that has long stirred imagination and inspired tales of the Scottish Wulver.
To honour this legend, we present a 12 Year Old unpeated single malt, finished for nine months in the finest Tawny Port casks. The maritime character of Glen Scotia flows through layers of roasted nuts, ripe forest fruits and indulgent caramel, deepened by the richness of the port finish.
Tasting Notes:
Nose: Juicy forest fruits, candied nuts and crisp red apple, all wrapped in indulgent caramel sweetness.
Taste: Layers of dried fig and orange peel unfold alongside smooth praline, offering both richness and balance.
Finish: Dark cocoa and dried fruits linger beautifully, complemented by gentle vanilla and warming oak spice.
