From the Distiller:
Glencadam Reserva PX has been created by our Master Distiller, who has carefully selected single malt matured in ex-bourbon American oak casks from Glencadam's historic dunnage warehouses. These casks have then been expertly married then finished in Pedro Ximénez Sherry butts specially sourced from Andalucia, Spain. Finishing in the Pedro Ximénez Sherry butts has helped our whisky to develop refined characteristics, which add greater depth, complexity and flavour.
Glencadam Reserva PX has been bottled at 46% alcohol by volume to retain the whisky's unique and natural characteristics and subtlety of taste.
By not chill filtering this whisky it ensures that the aromatic components are preserved to enhance presence and flavour. No caramel colouring has been added so that the naturalness of the whisky from the cask can be enjoyed to the full.
TASTING NOTES
Nose: Rich aromas of Christmas pudding, dried figs and dark chocolate bound with cedar and clove spices.
Palate: Sweet layers of maple syrup, treacle toffees and prunes mingled with maraschino cherries, brandy butter and Black Forest gateaux.
Finish: Warming impressions of cinder toffee, fruit cake and crystallized ginger tailing off into a cherry jam and espresso coffee linger.
