From the Distillery:
Our Double Barrel Irish Whiskey begins its maturation process in flame-charred ex Bourbon American oak. It is finished in Oloroso casks from Montilla, a small town found in the rolling hills of the Spanish coutryside.
We choose the bodega, the liquid, the casks and the cooper in this region of Spain to deliver a terroir-driven sense of this land, encapsulated in the liquied when we put our whisky in these slow-toasted casks for aging.
These specially selected casks combined with expert liquid finishing, deliver a rich and complex flavour to our Double Barrel Irish Whiskey.
Tasting Notes:
Nose: Rich with notes of dark fruit, cherry, raisin, fig and Christmas pudding.
Taste: Sweet and smooth with hints of butterscotch, honey and peppercorn, dried fruit, maraschino cherries and brown sugar.
Finish: Hints of ginger spices and a touch of almond and earthiness.
