Cask Finish: 1st Fill New Charred Oak
Outurn: 307 Bottles
PWS Tasting Notes:
C: Ruby red
N: Initially the nose is rich and floral but there’s a lingering smokiness like a burnt wood, like the end of a beach bonfire.
P: The palate is punchy and brings more of the smoky, burned wooden flavour. Before long we arrived with sour cherries dominating the fruit profile, joined by hints of cranberry, underripe plum, and a faint touch of medicinal iodine
F: Long and warming, with the peat smoke slowly fading into dark cherry skins, cocoa nibs, and a touch of leather. The sour cherry note lingers with a tart dryness that invites another sip.
Truncated label notes: Smokey sour cherries
