Tasting note from distillery:

Our unique selection of three locally-inspired botanicals includes pearls of heather, common on Scottish hillsides, rowan berries, found in local wooded areas, and sea buckthorn, growing wild in Scotland’s coastal areas.

Our five classic gin botanicals (juniper berries, lemon peel, bitter orange peel, coriander seed and angelica root) create the base to a London Dry gin with a complex palate and a lusciously long finish.

Botanicals in Red Door Highland Gin and how they contribute to the flavor of this gin:

Sea buckthorn-- These tart tangy berries have crisp warming citrus flavors; they add fresh fruity top notes.

Pearls of heather- Subtly perfumed; they impart delicious delicate grassy floral notes.

Rowan berries-- Slightly bitter with subtle chocolatey smoky undertones; one of the key elements to building this gin's bittersweet, full-bodied flavor profile.

Juniper- The base to all gin; signature note is punchy and piney with a fruity freshness.

Bitter orange peel-- Gives the gin a deliciously distinctive citrus taste.

Lemon peel-- Creating a beautiful zesty balance, lemon peel provides essential contrast to the bittersweet herbal notes of this gin.

Angelica root-- Has a warm earthy flavor with slightly bitter herbaceous notes. Provides essential bite and a lingering aftertaste.

Coriander seed-- Citrusy, nutty, and slightly spicy. Delivers zesty notes towards the end of the palate, adding a delicious depth and complexity to this gin.
