Pronounced “tree ka-rah”. Tri Carragh translates to “Three Pillars” in Gaelic. Symbolising the three simple ingredients of water, barley and yeast that are masterfully combined to create Single Malt Whisky. For us, it also represents quality, the character of our unique single malts, and the respect we have for every drinkers’ opinion. Tri Carragh is built on these principles.
Product Note: Seasoned American Oak Sherry cask. Outturn of 319 bottles. From Tri Carragh Release 01 Internation Wine and Spirits Competition – GOLD MEDAL Score: 96/100 “A very fine example of Speyside with bracken and pine on the nose. The aromatics continue to wow and awe as you sip, developing tangy orange fruit aromas complimented by beautifully integrated brown sugar, berries and cinnamon spice.” – Richard Paterson OBE, Billy Abbott, Nata Gana, Dr Bill Lumsden
Tasting Note: from Tri Carragh:
Nose: A wonderful nose full of fruit and sweetness, toffee apple, honeydew melon, vanilla fudge, pear, pineapple along with notes of cinnamon, polished furniture, leather in an old library. With water, the same fruits come through along with blood orange, demerara sugar, burnt marmalade, dark chocolate and a sweet earthiness like sugar snap pees.
Taste: Viscous, dark fruits; blackberries, blackcurrants, raspberries. Cherries and spiced plums. Spicy notes of chilli flakes, cloves, cinnamon also appear. With water more tropical fruit flavours join the explosion of flavour along with Victoria Sponge cake with icing, roasted caramel nuts and a peppery grape skin and treacle finish
